Location: Next to the main road that leads from Batsi to Gavrio.

How to get there: Very easily, by I.X. or bus. There is parking, but it is too small for the needs of the beach. Most people park on the main road.

In western Andros, between the port of Gavrio and cosmopolitan Batsi, we find one of the most beautiful and popular beaches of the island, Paralia Chrysi Ammos. It is one of the first organized beaches of Andros, a magnet for dozens of vacationers on a daily basis.

Why visit Golden Sand Beach?

The characteristic golden color of the sandy beach with its powder-fine sand gave the beach its name and, in combination with the wonderful blue-green waters, gave it unprecedented glamour. Besides, another reason that makes Chryssi Ammos Beach so attractive is the ease of approach as it is located on the main road that leads from the port to Chora, just 2 kilometers from Gavrio, and immediately after the huge and especially in recent years also popular beach of Agios Petros.

 

Music – Water Sports

The presence of the beach bar as well as the offer of many water sports places Chrysi Ammos Beach high among the preferences of young vacationers. However, the existence of the canteen and the easy access to the beach make it particularly popular for family outings. From the available water sports, you can rent a windsurf board, canoe, water bikes and skis. A diving school also operates on the beach.

“Golden Sand” Beach: A bustling beach

The turquoise color of its waters and its fine sand (after all, the beach is also known to the locals as Psili Ammos) leave no one unmoved. An important advantage is that due to the location and the natural protection of the bay where Golden Sand Beach is located, it is hardly affected by the August winds that often blow thickly in the Aegean. As a consequence of the above, Golden Sands Beach is almost always full of Greek and foreign vacationers, especially during the peak tourist season and due to its short length.
